Easy Fall Canvas

Truth be told, my heart always feels abundantly thankful....... but it sure doesn't hurt to have a gentle reminder plastered on the mantel, tucked between the wheat grass and the fall leaves.

Weekly Wow's

Happy Weekend!  Hope you all had a marvelous week. So, initially I was enjoying the no phone and internet access in the house but now it is going on 9 days and.... I am ready.  We had a most wicked storm that took out the transformer, our satellite and completely fried the TV in the den.  I have had to schmooze up to hubby to post a few things this week, and I am hoping that we are back on track next week. Until then, here's some things that caught my eye this week.... while on my phone in the car ride line.

Need to put these on the Christmas list.

The ultimate tree fort adventure

I will never forget that sunny afternoon we bought our first cedar play fort. Driving home, my husband was thinking strategically about all the pieces that needed to be secured together, while I grew nostalgic.... thinking that I wanted it to be their forever play fort . The play fort that they would grow old on....  The play fort that lifelong memories would be created on and that visions like this would last forever.

How To Love Your Garage Again

I wasn't sure if I was going to share this today....in fear of being judged. I mean seriously who paints graffiti on their own garage walls....although I will admit the sentiment that my husband painted with our initials is so sweet. But still....who does that!
FYI-  We aren't really graffiti artists. We used some of the garage in late winter to paint the kitchen cabinets, and the walls were used to test the paint sprayer, knowing that we would be painting them down the road.

Putting On My Runway Face...... 3 of My Beauty Tips and a Giveaway

I must admit that when I started this blog I didn't think I would be offering you unsolicited advice on my beauty tips, but then again, I never thought I would be living in the country driving a tractor and  raising donkeys either. But the truth is, even us country gals like to look our best from time to time. And while I make absolutely no claims to looking like a super model, I do like to put on a great face every now and then.
When I was in my corporate career, I didn't feel completely dressed without my base, blush and eyes, so I would be a frequent shopper at department store cosmetic counters. I mean who doesn't like to try new makeup in front of hundreds of shopping strangers in the middle of the mall at the cosmetic counter? And while the experience was a bit daunting and awkward for me, I continued trying and buying makeup over the years this way.

Finding Beauty in The Most Strangest Places

A few weeks ago I was out in the garden and happen to look over at the tractor, which we affectionately call Bubba. I noticed something inside the engine compartment and quickly called my husband as I thought perhaps it was a snake, and I am a bit to wimpy for those things.
