Here, you can sit in this chair
No? How about if I sand her down and remove any loose paint? Then I will apply two coats of paint in a fun, bright coral color.
Is she good enough now?
I know, I can go ahead and stencil the chair with my initial. I will use my projector and trace a "J" on a piece of cardboard and cut out with a knife. Next I will apply the template to the chair and paint it a creamy white color.
Do you think she looks pretty since I added a decorative border under the initial, using the same process ?
Okay Sassy, If that's not good enough for you, I can throw on a few pillows that I purchased recently. The Bunny pillow is from Dear Lille, and The Owl came from Home Goods.
and I will also add some beautiful flowers that my husband brought home in my monogram vase wrap
Will you sit with me now?
I thought so.

Oh Laura, Your outdoor chair is gorgeous now! You really know how to create something beautiful from something very plain.
Hugs, Cindy
I have two white adirondack chairs rotting in the grass overlooking the lake. I have to drive by them every time I go in or out and they scream at me to paint them. I wasn't interested till I saw that giant J on yours.

Move over!! I'm coming!

thank you for your thoughts today. i very much appreciate your blogging friendship. In fact, i could have a nice glass of wine in that red chair and toast to blogging friends!!!!
So pretty! I love the stenciled initial!
I still don't want to set in it, I want to set across from it and just look at it's beauty. So pretty.
So PRETTY. Ready for summer. I need a glass of lemonade. GREAT MAKEOVER. Im your newest follower. Come visit me at PICKINandPAINTIN.blogspot and maybe you'll follow back?>?
THANKS 8-)
You had me at "coral paint" but the final reveal is even better! I'm heading over now...sounds like it's going to be a little crowded!
I like it all cleaned up for sitting, but I also looooved it in the natural patina. I guess it will better serve it's purpose now than sitting in a garden all alone. Either way, I love it!
Thanks for showing your pretty chair at Your Cozy Home Party. The color is great and the pillow is very cute. Very nice job!------ Shannon
Oooh this is lovely! and you just reminded me I scored two of these chairs in a yard sale at the end of last summer for an amazing $6 each! Better get off here and get the paint brush out!
Thanks for sharing and inspiring (and reminding!)
What a lovely chair, and great pillows too! I love the red color!
Wow! Great makeover! I love my adirondack chairs - well actually it's down to just a singular chair now. I originally had 4 of them that I got for $75 @ from a guy who made them in his garage that I just happened to drive by on my way home from work one day. That was about 20 years ago when my kids were small. The chairs started out as plain unfinished pine and it gets so hot here in Texas that I wanted something watery & cool to look at thru the kitchen window. I painted each chair a different color of ocean from dark to light & stamped some white shells, starfish and seahorses on the back slats near the top and on the end of the arm rests where you'd set a sweating glass of sweet iced tea or a beer. I also painted one of those little 3 legged tables you buy to put a floor length table cloth on to match the chairs. When the chairs needed a paint job I painted them all white and then sponged on some neon green, neon orange and neon yellow - cuz by this time we were down to 3 chairs. The forth chair rotted & died. Sadly I am now down to one & 1/2 chairs - the 1/2 chair was made into an ottoman from salvaged parts of the neon orange chair but it goes nicely with the neon green chair. When I have to replace the last of my chairs I think I'll start over using your idea. :)
This is such a great project! I hope you will come link it up at the Pinworthy Project Link Party going on now over on my blog, Just Us Four.
Laura,
I loved this for our Cinch party and still loving what I see through The Rooster & The Hen party!
It's such a fun idea - I may have to give it a try!
Kelly

Hugs and Happy Easter -
