I once loved this sign
But the more my 6 year saw the sign, and started to read simple words, the more he believed it was true and so I slowly began to despise the sign.
So it was time to make a change before my 3 year twins learned to read and catch on. Since the sign was a good filler for the space that it was in, and serves as a hot spot for the family computer I decided to give it a quick makeover.
Here's what I did:
Applied Black Spray paint
Sanded down any raised lettering and repainted
Applied some white lettering spelling out FAMILY
ordered some cute magnetic numbers from Hayden by Haven here
And here you go. No more Denny's!
Little good the sign did though, my kids still think they can sit at the counter and yell

Awesome! And I am begining to feel like a diner and he is only 3! Lol...
When you think about it, kids don't really know what a "diner" is. My 19 year old son STILL does that! And that is because I've let him get away with it. Boy, to be able to do it over again.....

Well it's darn cute with the redo. Today one son asked me what was for dinner as I was cleaning the kitchen. I said, I have no idea. Then I said..... seems everyone here knows how to cook, it's the cleaning up part no one knows how to do!

How did I not know you had a set of twins. We have a set {I am sure that is totally NOT politically correct anymore} ourselves. Anyways, super cute "new" sign!
Glad I'm not the only short order cook around! My twins are 12 - and they love ringing our little diner bell when foods up!
