Back To School....Student Treat

The Pinterest fairy led me to the cutest treat idea for the kids class on the first day. I must admit I find pinterest a bit overwhelming with inspiration so, I  stay back....or I will be sucked in.

So I am totally sure that I violated the 'healthy' snack rule with this treat, but it was just such a cute idea, I couldn't resist.

Since I was providing for the class, I picked up a few boxes of Little Debbie Snacks. I used PicMonkey to create my tag using the school theme. I use PicMonkey for all my labels and photo editing.

After I printed out the message on some card stock, made a hole in the corner, I used some red twine to secure the tag around the cookie. That way, if any of the sentimental mom's wanted to keep their kids first snack tag of the year, they could. Are you that mom?

I loaded up all the cookies in a big basket lined with a fun colored napkins and marched right into that classroom....to see if my 'healthy' snack passed the test........

it did.

What do you remember most about your first days of school?

If your little or big one's that are getting ready to start school , or already have, best of luck for a wonderful school year.

Back to School .....Teacher Gift

Happy Hump day! Well day 4 of the kids back to school and I am just ...... missing them. I didn't think them going back would leave such a void in my heart and in my everyday routine.
So to fill that void, today I am joining up with some of my Southern blogger pals  to bring you a Back To School Idea....for the teacher.

We have been so incredibly blessed for our children to have such wonderful, kind and loving teachers, and the teachers this year are no exception. I wanted to kick off the school year with a little gift that personally I just love.

I figure nothing wrong with a little schmoozing so early in the year, right? Besides, as cute as I think my kids are, they can get a bit "active".

I found these summer scented candles at Bath and Body for the cost of lunch. These candles not only smell amazing , they are slow burners and burn clean. I created a label with a sweet message on card stock and attached with floral wire to the candle. The candles were already wrapped with a bow when I bought them.

I put them in a gift bag and sent them to school. A+ for mom.

Speaking of other A+ projects, be sure to visit my Southern Pals for more Back to School inspiration.

Refresh Restyle

Have an amazing day!

Grateful~
that I haven't missed the alarm this week

Teacher Appreciation Gift Ideas

Wow... I can hardly believe that in 2 1/2 weeks my kids will be out of school for the summer.....already.

But, before I start planning our summer activities and my backup sanity plan...just in case, I need to think about those sweet teachers that have supported, cared and loved my children all year. And, while I am finalizing this years appreciation gift, I have put together a few ideas that I have done in the past, that the teachers have loved.

These canvas totes are always such a big hit. You can find how simple they are to do here.

Seeds of knowledge with a flower pot filled with garden gadgets

'Thanks for being sweet' with chocolate bar and gift card

'highlight' of my year card with pen

You can find this collection of ideas here.

What ideas do you have and..... am I the only one anticipating the need to use a sanity plan?

grateful for~
wonderful teachers

Thank You- Wonderful Teachers!

I just think the world of the wonderful teachers that my children have been blessed to have this year. Each has had an enormous amount of love and patience for my children and as a mom I certainly can't thank them enough.

With just a few days left of school and my oldest graduating... kindergarten,  I am sending the kids off today with an end of the year gift for each of their teachers.

I thought the teachers might look a little more stylish bringing this bag to schoo. This bag is also perfect to use for the beach, spa, school or shopping.

I got these bags at Hobby Lobby...for next to nothing with the 50% coupon. I decided to personalize each of the bags with the teachers initial. I did this two ways. With some, I used iron on fabric (M) and on others I stenciled fabric paint (C).

I couldn't find a bag big enough for my thanks and appreciation so I hope they will enjoy this one........

and leave the big old canvas one at home!

Sweet Smelling Gift Idea

This is a great smelling idea to end Teacher Appreciation Week, and honestly this would make a great gift for mom's day too.
How cute is this! All's you need to do is take a few packs of scents- I used lavender, and tie a ribbon around them to secure

layer some circle shaped card stock and coordinating paper and attach your "Thanks for teaching me good scents" note. I printed this using Word and glued both circles together.

Tuck the note in the scent packets and share with mom or your favorite teacher.

Mom or teacher- maybe both, will certainly enjoy the sweet smell in this gift.
Need more inspiration, check out my mom's day  arrangement here and my chalk butterfly idea here .
Come back on Friday when I'll share one more gift idea for mom's day and next week I will share an idea for an end of the year teacher gift.

Teacher Appreciation Gift Idea

Wanted to share these lovely little chalk butterflies that will be going to my kids teachers during Teacher Appreciation week
I used  pre-cut cardboard butterflies from Joann Fabrics (located in the craft section) and painted both sides with black chalkboard paint

Hole punched the corner
and added some jute string
 Quick, easy and thoughtful!
