Trick or Treat....Where does time go?

How did I go from lil pumpkins.........

To a super hero, skeleton and a bumble bee!

Still waiting for this years costumes to arrive in the mail. After much conversation and debate and a bit of mom  input on some of the ideas particular with my 8 year old, we will have  007, a zombie and a cat.

Monday Musings

What my house lacks in 'halloweenish' decorations this year, my kids will make up for in candy. This is the only thing in the house resembling the holiday.  My BFF made this. Too cute!

Monday Musings

It's fall break this week and the family is beyond excited. We are finally getting to do something that I had to postpone last winter when we were snowed in, then again cancel in the Spring because Lily broke her foot, and again cancel over the summer because dad had a business trip. The kids still don't think it's gonna happen....but it is, even though....there is rain in the forecast. I am handy, I will build a boat if I have to!

Finding Beauty in The Most Strangest Places

A few weeks ago I was out in the garden and happen to look over at the tractor, which we affectionately call Bubba. I noticed something inside the engine compartment and quickly called my husband as I thought perhaps it was a snake, and I am a bit to wimpy for those things.

Monday Musings....Furniture makeover, wasp sting, and more from the Funny Farm.

Doesn't look like much now but when I get finished with this cabinet redo....it's going to look amazing. I will be installing some pattern to the back, some side panels and attach some awesome hardware. My vision makes me excited.

Monday Musings

Hi sweet friends! Welcome to another week of randomness at my real life funny farm at Top This Top That.

Our property and pastures get dusted every year, so our grass is nice and green. A bit stinky, but we always love the results and it's totally organic. Any guesses to what is being spread?

Monday Musings- Best scent for summer, garden produce and a birthday celebration

Today will mark the second day that the kids have been back to school. Friday, I walked around dazed and confused not knowing what to do with myself and hearing screams that really didn't exist..... although I did manage a well needed mani and pedi.
We celebrated the twins 6th birthday last week with a party at the house. The kids had an amazing time with this water slide that we rented for the day.

This is what I am doing today

Don't worry..... I am fine. It's been a couple of days and I didn't want you to think that I got swallowed up by a vortex of school supplies sitting on the dining room table.

Summer Time Bliss

"I close my eyes
as to dream of this
a day of fun
a day of bliss
This is my sunshine that fills my day
This is the happy that wants to play

This is the vision of what summers should be
Carefree thoughts
 for you
 and
for me"

                                                - mom

Enjoy your blissful summer day!

Grateful~
For moments like this

Monday Musings....new tile, pumpkins and no eggs yet

I found this tile at Home Depot on clearance a few months back and decided to do a few updates in the laundry room.  I need to cut and place a few more tiles around the electrical outlets ( one more unfinished project to add to the list)  and then I can show you what I have done to the space.

A few weeks back when I was ordering these for the front porch, I went ahead and ordered this 'cake plate'.  Ha. Not sure what size cake they eat, but doubtful any cake that I make will fit on it, so I am using it to hold my favorite candles instead. I should have known better when the price was $6.95. Still, super cute.

Getting ready to make a pineapple upside down cake for my husbands birthday... his favorite. Hmmm, I wonder if it will fit on that 'cake plate' ?

This year, I am growing pumpkins in my garden. Should be a lot of fun in the fall to have our own Pumpkin patch for the kids and their friends. If you want to grow them, they require a lot of space in the garden and if they are planted by July, should be ready to pick in the fall.

Remember these guys, they have have really grown...... No eggs yet.

Got any tidbits you want to share?

Have a great rest of the week!

Grateful~
Good rain for the garden...and the chickens
